Fisher’s of Men
As Christians we are called by Christ to be fishermen. How often do we find it extremely difficult to go out and answer His call?
Perhaps the reason for this is that we are unprepared as fishermen. This is like trying to go fishing without tackle, without even having water to go on. Being a fisherman takes preparation, a certain amount of skill and a whole lot of luck.
Being a Fisher of Men, takes guidance, knowledge, training and instead of luck a great deal of ‘Spirit’. ‘Fishers of Men’ takes a look through the eyes of some fictional characters, at the elements of being a ‘Fly-Fisher of Men.
In the words of Norman Maclean;
“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river
was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
I am haunted by waters.”
These words are mine, as I am haunted by His!
